Update: The First Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Arrived Early Ahead Of San Diego Comic-Con

Update (July 21): Marvel Studios released the trailer early. The first Avengers: Doomsday trailer arrived on Monday, July 20, five days ahead of schedule, rather than at Saturday’s Hall H panel as originally reported below. Our original story follows.

The countdown is officially on. The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will be released this Saturday, July 25, timed to Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, according to The Hollywood Handle.

Hall H Gets The First Look

The trailer debut is set to headline what should be the biggest panel of the convention. Marvel Studios is returning to Hall H with the coveted Saturday night slot after sitting out last year’s marquee presentation, and a first look at Doomsday is exactly the kind of moment that slot exists for. Expect the footage to hit online immediately after, or shortly following, the in-room premiere. This will also be the public’s first proper look at footage that has so far only screened privately, after an early cut of the trailer was shown to theater owners at CinemaCon back in April.

Anticipation has been building through a steady drip of reveals, from the official concept art showing the film’s massive ensemble to Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom coming into focus through merchandise leaks. A full trailer is the first real chance to see the tone the Russo brothers are setting for the crossover, their first Avengers film since directing Infinity War and Endgame.

Tickets And Trailer, Same Week

The trailer timing lines up neatly with the box office machine spinning up. Domestic pre-sale tickets go on sale Monday, July 20 for premium large-format screens under Marvel’s new Infinity Vision banner, five months ahead of the film’s December 18 release, with a hefty 165 minute runtime revealed by the studio. That running time would make Doomsday longer than Avengers: Infinity War at 149 minutes, though still shy of Avengers: Endgame at 181. Launching pre-sales days before a Hall H trailer premiere is a one-two punch designed to convert Comic-Con hype directly into record-setting first-day ticket numbers.

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters December 18, with its follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, already dated for December 17, 2027. We will have the trailer and every announcement from Marvel’s SDCC presentation as it happens during Comic-Con weekend.
