Hulu’s legal drama Conviction has added four new cast members ahead of its upcoming premiere. Variety reports that Linda Emond has been cast in a series regular role, while Zainab Jah, Ashley Zukerman, and Jose Zuniga have joined in recurring guest star roles, filling out what is shaping up to be a strong ensemble for the series.
Conviction is based on the Jack Jordan novel of the same name and stars Elisabeth Moss as Neve Harper, a criminal defense attorney who finally gets her shot at a career-making case: a high-profile murder in which a husband is accused of killing his wife by setting their home on fire. But when a mysterious stranger begins blackmailing Neve, she is forced to compromise every legal, moral, and ethical obligation to win an acquittal, or risk her own dark secrets being exposed. David Shore, the creator of House and The Good Doctor, is adapting the novel and serving as showrunner.
The New Cast Members
Linda Emond is a veteran stage and screen actress and three-time Tony Award nominee whose television credits include The Gilded Age, The Patient, and Only Murders in the Building. Zainab Jah recently appeared in the John Wick spinoff series The Continental and has built a strong reputation across film, theater, and shows like Homeland and The Good Lord Bird. Ashley Zukerman is an Australian actor known for his work in Manhattan, Succession, and the Fear Street film trilogy, bringing a track record of strong dramatic performances to the role. Jose Zuniga is a prolific character actor whose credits, including Narcos: Mexico, span decades of film and television. Together they join what is already a promising project for Hulu.
A Powerhouse Team Behind The Camera
The new additions join previously announced cast members Jimmi Simpson, Sebastian De Souza, and Adam Godley. Moss is executive producing under her Love & Squalor Pictures banner, and Warren Littlefield, who worked with Moss and Hulu on The Handmaid’s Tale, is executive producing as well. With that pedigree behind it, Conviction joins Hulu’s growing lineup of prestige drama just as The Bear wraps its acclaimed run on the streamer.
