Pixar is not confirming anything. But they are not exactly staying quiet either.

On Friday, May 29, mysterious “TS” billboards began appearing in cities including Chicago, Los Angeles, London, and Dallas. The design featured the letters “TS” in the iconic Toy Story font, set against the franchise’s recognizable blue sky and clouds backdrop. Eagle-eyed fans quickly counted 13 clouds on the display, a number long associated with Taylor Swift, and theories spread fast.

Then on Saturday, Pixar made things considerably more interesting.

Pixar Posts a “Shake It Off” Reference

The official Pixar social media account shared a video of Toy Story cowgirl Jessie dancing on one of the TS billboards, captioned: “She’s making those moves up as she goes!”

Swifties recognized the line immediately. It mirrors a lyric from Swift’s 2014 hit “Shake It Off”: “I’m dancing on my own, I make the moves up as I go.” The post racked up thousands of likes within minutes, and the comment sections on every major Disney fan site lit up with speculation.

Either Pixar’s social team is having a great week at work, or something is coming.

Why Fans Are Taking This Seriously

This is not the first time Swift’s name has come up in connection with Toy Story 5. Speculation began on April 30 when a brief countdown appeared on TaylorSwift.com, visible for only about 10 minutes before disappearing. The countdown’s backdrop featured a blue sky and clouds design strikingly similar to Andy’s bedroom wallpaper from the Toy Story franchise. Directors Andrew Stanton and McKenna Harris and producer Lindsey Collins addressed the rumors at the time without officially confirming or denying Swift’s involvement.

The “TS” initials also overlap with the film’s shorthand title, TS5, which fans have noted is almost too convenient to be accidental.

Swift’s relationship with Disney is well established. Disney+ has served as the streaming home for her Eras Tour concert films and documentary content, and her Eras Tour costume collection was displayed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

What Could Her Role Be?

Nothing has been officially confirmed, and Taylor Swift’s team has not commented. But the speculation covers several possibilities: a song contributed to the soundtrack, a collaboration with Randy Newman, or even a voice role. The film’s premiere is scheduled for June 9, which is widely considered the most likely date for any announcement. Toy Story 5 opens in theaters everywhere on June 19, 2026.

For now, Pixar is letting the cowgirl do the talking.
