Walt Disney Presents at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a new centerpiece. A scale model of Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, the Bay Lake resort opening next summer, has moved into the spot that held the Tropical Americas model, Scott Gustin shared late Friday.
A model of Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is now on display inside Walt Disney Presents, replacing the Tropical Americas model.

The model lays out the resort on a blue water base, with its buildings, pools, slides and landscaping spread along the shore. Concept art panels hang above it alongside Disney Lakeshore Lodge signage, so you can match the paintings to the miniature right below them. It’s the best look yet at how the whole resort comes together.
A Swap In The Preview Gallery
Walt Disney Presents has become the place to get an up-close look at what Walt Disney World is building next. The Tropical Americas model had been one of its centerpieces since the preview displays went in last October, sitting alongside pieces for the Cars and Monsters, Inc. projects. More recently the gallery added Glob Theater lobby art and a laugh canister for Monstropolis, and now a hotel joins the rides and lands.
What’s Coming To Bay Lake
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge opens July 1, 2027, on the shores of Bay Lake, a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom. Disney says the resort will have 967 rooms, ranging from duo studios and villas to freestanding one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses, and reservations opened earlier this month. The Disney Parks Blog’s Letters from Lakeshore updates have been tracking the project from early construction through the room reveal.
The pools and slides belong to The Wetlands, where you’ll find a lazy river, a zero-entry pool with a spiral slide and a Pocahontas-inspired play area. Dining will include Moonglade, a signature waterfront restaurant, plus the Bay Lake Provisions marketplace and Paint Out Point Bar & Grill by the pool. Select rooms also come with access to The Artist’s Nest, a concierge lounge with views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. We already got a look at the resort’s Branch & Brush lounge, and the model fills in the rest of the picture.
