Abbott Elementary has three more famous faces lined up for Season 6. Miranda Cosgrove, Edi Patterson and Ali Wong will all guest star in upcoming episodes of the ABC comedy, Deadline reported on October 14. Who they’re playing is still under wraps.
The news lands in a big season for the show. Abbott will hit its 100th episode around the fall finale, and that milestone episode was filmed at Disneyland. How the teachers, and maybe some students, get from Philadelphia to Anaheim hasn’t been revealed yet, but that storyline is likely to start unfolding in the episodes leading up to midseason.
Meet The New Guest Stars
Cosgrove is still best known as the star of Nickelodeon’s iCarly, which ran for six seasons. She also starred in and executive produced the Paramount+ revival, and was most recently seen opposite Pierson Fode in Netflix’s The Wrong Paris.
Patterson spent four seasons as Judy Gemstone on HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, where she also worked as a writer and consulting producer, and the role earned her a 2026 Critics Choice nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. She’ll next appear with Cameron Diaz in Netflix’s action comedy Bad Day, debuting December 11.
Wong broke out with her Netflix stand-up specials, starting with Baby Cobra and Hard Knock Wife, and helped launch Netflix’s Beef. Her latest special, Ali Wong: Single Lady, came out in 2024, and she voices the lead in Netflix’s animated movie Steps later this year.
A Show Built On Cameos
Abbott has never been shy about guest stars. Season 6 opened with cameos from Philadelphia 76ers players including Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe. Over the years the show has brought in Philly sports stars like Jason Kelce and Jalen Hurts, plus Bradley Cooper and Questlove, all playing themselves, while Ayo Edebiri, Taraji P. Henson and Leslie Odom Jr. have turned up as scripted characters, from family members to school district rivals.
The season’s second episode, Check-Ins, aired Wednesday, October 14 on ABC and streams Thursday on Hulu. Gregory (Tyler James Williams) juggles the demands of his two roles, Jacob (Chris Perfetti) and Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter) struggle to find a compromise, Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph) handles a delicate situation with a student, and Janine (Quinta Brunson) checks in with Courtney.
