More Monsters, Inc. coaster track is waiting to go in at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. New aerial photos taken Friday, October 23, by construction photographer bioreconstruct show track sections staged near the ride’s building, ready to be placed.
bioreconstruct posted the set on Saturday. A couple of shots look down into what he calls the coaster’s gravity building, one of them through its steel frame, with the staged track sitting off to one side. Another photo shows the curved sections loaded on flatbed trucks, ready to travel over to the building and be placed. A straight-down shot also catches work near The Glob Theater and Harryhausen’s Restaurant, the stretch guests will walk through to reach the Monsters, Inc. factory.

Track Is Still Arriving
Track has been inside the door coaster’s building for weeks. On October 9, bioreconstruct’s aerials showed highly banked curves going in, and by October 18 new supports were filling the gravity building so quickly that the track was getting hard to spot, as we reported when new aerials peeked into the door coaster building. The new photos show that more pieces are still on their way in.
Disney has billed the door coaster as the first suspended roller coaster at a Disney park, and it will start with a vertical lift that hoists riders up from the load station before they head into the door vault. That lift is the part shown in the official preview above.
Bricks Come Back Up At The Gateway
There is also a change at the front of the land. An arrow in one of the new aerials points to a patch of the Monstropolis gateway pavement where bricks have been pulled back up. bioreconstruct thinks the bricks seen there on October 18 were likely a test placement, laid down to confirm that the planned pattern fits the space. He also suggested the gateway columns may be finished before the bricks return.

Likely a test placement was seen on Oct 18. Confirming the brick arrangement planned fits the space.
Could be work on the columns will be completed before bricks return.
The columns are part of the angled gateway that separates Monstropolis from Grand Avenue. They were still bare concrete in mid-October, when ground photos showed the clock tower getting its red brick theming.
When Monstropolis Opens
Parts of Monstropolis will open to guests in 2027 while work continues on the door coaster, according to the Disney Parks Blog. Disney has not given an opening date for the coaster itself. Until then, the land stays behind construction walls, and aerials like these show how far along it is.
