Monstropolis Menus Take Shape With Eyeball Ramen At Harryhausen’s And Blort At Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza

The Monstropolis menus are taking shape, and Disney’s first look leans hard into eyeballs. Harryhausen’s, the sushi restaurant from Monsters, Inc., is exploring ramen bowls with fishcake sliced to look like eyeballs, and Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza will be the first place humans can try Blort, the Monsters University soda, possibly as a purple frozen drink.

Both restaurants open with Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2027. Chef Brian Piasecki, Disney’s director of culinary and concept development, and beverage director Evan Rosenthal shared the early menu ideas in a behind-the-scenes look at the land’s food on October 6. Their team calls the style “grossly fun”: familiar flavors reimagined with monster twists.

Ramen And A Tentacled Sushi Chef At Harryhausen’s

Harryhausen’s will be a table-service restaurant in the former Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano space, and Imagineers are recreating the movie version right down to its head sushi chef. He is a new Audio-Animatronic figure who will use eight tentacles to prepare food in the middle of the dining room.

The menu will go beyond sushi. Ramen is one of the dishes the team is exploring, built on traditional Japanese flavors like a rich tonkotsu broth and alkaline ramen noodles, then dressed up with eyeball fishcake and green eggs. Disney pitches Harryhausen’s as the swanky spot for a night out, with a menu meant to work for younger and older guests alike.

Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza is the quick-service spot, taking over the old PizzeRizzo building. Disney says it is designed to feel like the neighborhood pizza place where Monsters University students hang out after class, with a few nostalgic touches.

No human has ever tasted Blort, so the beverage team had room to invent it. The version Disney is showing is a purple frozen drink topped with “Scream Apple Foam,” though Disney framed that as one possibility rather than a final recipe.

The pizza is changing too. At a September 11 press event, Blog Mickey learned that the kitchen is getting all new equipment and an upgraded recipe, with chefs focused on cooking the bottom of the crust properly.

When Monstropolis Opens

No prices or final menus have been announced for either restaurant. Disney has said Monstropolis opens in phases beginning in 2027, with Harryhausen’s and Archie’s in the first wave alongside the Welcome to Monstropolis show in the Glob Theater. The Monsters, Inc. door coaster follows later.
