Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs is adding a cocktail you can take home in a lantern. The Orochi’s Ember arrives the first week of November for $20, and for another $15 it comes in a souvenir lantern cup, so the drink and the lantern together run $35.
Unlike most souvenir drinks at Walt Disney World, this one is not a limited-time offer. Laughing Place reports that the lantern cup will become a standard part of the menu, so there is no need to rush over in the first week of November if your trip is later in the year.
What Is In The Orochi’s Ember
The cocktail starts with Toki Black, a Japanese whisky, and adds Aperol, lime juice, yuzu juice, grapefruit and dragon fruit syrup. Yuzu and grapefruit give it a citrus base, and the dragon fruit syrup is the sweet part of the mix.
The name comes from Japanese folklore, where Orochi is a giant eight-headed serpent.
How To Order It
You can order the Orochi’s Ember on its own for $20 if you just want the drink, or pay the extra $15 to have it served in the lantern. Disney Springs does not require a park ticket, so you can stop in for one on a day off from the parks, or before a show or dinner elsewhere at The Landing.
Because the lantern cup is staying on the menu, it is also an easy pick for anyone who collects souvenir cups and does not want to plan a trip around a short release window.
About Morimoto Asia
Morimoto Asia sits in The Landing at Disney Springs and comes from Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. It was his first pan-Asian restaurant, with a menu that crosses Chinese, Japanese and Korean cooking, from sushi and sashimi to crispy Peking duck, dim sum and the Oreo tempura dessert. Exhibition kitchens let diners watch the duck carving and dim sum being made.
The building is two stories tall, with 20-foot chandeliers, Shanghai-inspired lounges and a second-level sushi bar and lounge. The drinks list already includes a long sake selection, the Morimoto Signature Aged Sake and a couple of Morimoto’s own beers, so the new cocktail joins a bar with plenty on it.
Disney Springs keeps adding Japanese flavors to its lineup, including the shaved ice at Kakigori Kool, which opened at Disney Springs this summer. You can find Morimoto Asia’s full menu and reservations on Disney’s Morimoto Asia page.
