New Year’s Eve Fireworks And Late Hours Set At Magic Kingdom, EPCOT And Hollywood Studios

Fireworks over Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World has set its New Year’s Eve fireworks plans, and three parks will stay open late to count down to 2027. On Thursday, December 31, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are open until midnight and EPCOT stays open until 1 a.m., with countdown fireworks just before the clock strikes 12 at all three.

Animal Kingdom is the one park sitting out the late night. It keeps a regular day, open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

New Year’s Eve Park Hours

Here is how the four theme parks look on December 31:

  • Magic Kingdom: 9 a.m. to midnight
  • EPCOT: 9 a.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Hollywood Studios: 9 a.m. to midnight
  • Animal Kingdom: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Early Entry for resort guests starts at 8:30 a.m. at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and at 7:30 a.m. at Animal Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom also gets a head start. The park stays open until midnight on Wednesday, December 30, too, with the same two fireworks showtimes that night, while EPCOT and Hollywood Studios close at 9 p.m.

Two Chances To See Fantasy In The Sky

Magic Kingdom is running Fantasy in the Sky twice on New Year’s Eve, at 6:30 p.m. and again at 11:50 p.m. The late show is the one that carries the park into midnight. The early one is a good pick for families with kids who will not make it that long.

EPCOT runs Luminous: The Symphony of Us at 6:30 p.m. and then caps the night with Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration just before midnight. Over at Hollywood Studios, Fantasmic! has two shows at 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., Wonderful World of Animation plays at 9 p.m., and the park’s own New Year countdown fireworks go up right before 12.

What To Know Before You Go

You can only be at one park when the clock hits midnight, so if you are set on ringing in 2027 at Walt Disney World, decide early which fireworks you want. EPCOT’s extra hour after midnight gives it the longest night of the three, while Magic Kingdom’s two showings give you a backup if the late one feels like too much. Either way, plan to claim a viewing spot well ahead of the countdown.

The night lands at the tail end of a busy holiday season at Magic Kingdom, where several nights of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party have already sold out. Hours can still change between now and December 31, so check the park calendar again closer to your trip.
