A First For Disney’s Park Apps
Disney has begun rolling out Spanish language support across the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps, marking the first time either app has offered a guest-facing language option beyond English. Select pages of both apps are now available in Spanish, and Disney has confirmed the change is part of a broader wave of updates designed to make trip planning simpler for the millions of guests who rely on the apps every day.
The rollout follows plans Disney first outlined in May, when Spanish was named as the first additional language coming to My Disney Experience. Walt Disney World is receiving the updates first, with Disneyland set to follow later in the year.
Why This Update Matters
The My Disney Experience app is not optional for guests visiting Walt Disney World. It is the primary tool for managing nearly every part of a modern park day, from checking wait times and booking dining reservations to purchasing Lightning Lane passes and navigating the resort. For Spanish-speaking guests, handling all of that in a second language has been an added layer of friction that English-speaking guests have never had to consider.
Spanish is the second most widely spoken language in the United States, and Disney’s parks draw enormous numbers of guests from Latin America, Puerto Rico, and Spain each year. Extending the app into Spanish removes a real barrier for one of the largest segments of Disney’s guest base.
What Is And Is Not Translated Yet
Most of the app is now available in Spanish, covering the day-to-day features guests use most, including wait times, dining reservations, and Lightning Lane selections. A few areas have not caught up yet. According to BlogMickey, Mobile Order menus and Mobile Merchandise checkout remain English-only for now, even when Spanish is selected everywhere else in the app.
Disney has indicated that additional languages may follow Spanish in future updates, though no specific languages or timelines have been confirmed. The change is one piece of a larger app overhaul that Disney previewed earlier this year. Here is our full breakdown of the digital updates coming to the My Disney Experience app and website.
