The Mandalorian And Grogu Gets Digital Release Date Just Two Months After Theatrical Debut

The wait to watch Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu at home is nearly over. Lucasfilm announced today that the film will arrive on digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, just two months after its theatrical debut. A 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release will follow on August 25, 2026, according to the official announcement on StarWars.com.

A Quick Turnaround From Theaters To Home

Directed by Jon Favreau from a screenplay by Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Noah Kloor, The Mandalorian and Grogu opened in theaters on May 22, 2026, marking the first time Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu headlined a Star Wars feature film. The movie went on to gross roughly $342 million worldwide, a softer result than previous live-action Star Wars films, which makes the 60-day window between theatrical release and digital availability one of the fastest for the franchise. It was one of several big Disney releases this summer, a slate that helped push the film past the $315 million mark at the worldwide box office before its theatrical run wound down.

Bonus Features And Collectible Editions

Both the digital and physical releases come loaded with exclusive bonus content. Highlights include “Crafting The Mandalorian and Grogu,” a behind-the-scenes look at the puppetry, miniatures, sound design, and visual effects that brought the film to life, plus featurettes exploring the movie’s new snow and swamp worlds and the construction of the bustling city of Shakari. Audio commentary from director Jon Favreau is also included, along with “Dejarik for Real,” a featurette revisiting the Millennium Falcon’s iconic holochess creatures.

Collectors have plenty to choose from on the physical side. In addition to standard 4K UHD and Blu-ray editions, Lucasfilm is releasing a SteelBook and a U.S.-exclusive Beskar Collector’s Edition featuring special packaging and metal posters.

What About Disney+?

A Disney+ streaming date has not yet been announced. Based on Disney’s usual release patterns, fans can likely expect the film to hit the streaming service sometime this fall. In the meantime, the July 21 digital release gives audiences their first chance to own the adventure, which sees the Mandalorian and Grogu working with the New Republic to track down Imperial warlords while crossing paths with new characters played by Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White.
