Disneyland has added an audio warning to the twelve signs around the attraction. Cast members at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure are now making frequent announcements telling guests that if anyone in their party stands up during the ride, the entire party will be removed from the park.
In case you haven’t heard it yet, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure cast members at Disneyland now make frequent announcements that if anyone in your party stands up on the ride your party will be removed from the park. This was added in addition to the 12 new signs that went up last month.

The Party, Not The Guest
The wording is the part worth noticing. The signs put the consequence on the person who stands. The announcement puts it on everyone riding with them, which turns a personal rule into a group one and gives the rest of the log a reason to speak up before the lift hill.
Between the signs and the repeated announcements, Disneyland has now built a record that no guest can plausibly claim ignorance of. That appears to be the point.
What Prompted The Signs
In June, a 13-year-old guest climbed out of a ride vehicle on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and fell down the attraction’s 50-foot drop. The guest was not seriously injured.
Twelve new signs went up around the attraction in August, scattered through the queue, some using text and others diagrams. All of them carry the same instruction to remain seated at all times, with the line that failure to stay seated will result in removal from the park. The previous signage was softer, warning that guests may be removed.
Disneyland Resort confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that the signs were being installed that week, and said similar signage also appears at Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout.
Why The Rule Is Absolute
Log flumes carry no lap bars and no harnesses. The seating is a bench, the vehicle moves and turns throughout the ride, and there is nothing holding a standing guest in place at any point on the track. That is why the instruction is to remain seated at all times rather than only for the drop, and why Disney has now put it in front of guests repeatedly before they board.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure inherited the flume and the drop from Splash Mountain, which opened at Disneyland in July 1989 and closed in May 2023. The same basic ride system has been running in that corner of the park for more than three decades, in what was Critter Country until the land was renamed Bayou Country when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened. The instruction has been posted for most of that history. What changed this summer is the consequence attached to ignoring it.
What This Means For Your Ride
Practically, nothing changes for guests who stay seated, which is nearly everyone. The one thing worth knowing before you board is that the stated penalty reaches your whole party. If you are riding with someone who treats the drop as a photo opportunity, the warning is now aimed at you too.
Disney has not said whether the announcements are permanent or whether they will extend to other water attractions at the resort.
