Toy Story 5 Final Trailer Is Here (VIDEO)

The Toy Story 5 final trailer just dropped, and with the film less than a month away, Pixar is pulling no punches. Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang are back, and their biggest enemy is not a toy collector or a garbage truck. It is a tablet.

Disney and Pixar released the final look at the much-anticipated sequel ahead of its June 19, 2026 theatrical debut, giving audiences the most complete picture yet of what the film has in store.

Toys vs. Tech: What the Final Trailer Reveals

This time, it is Toy meets Tech. The toys meet Lilypad, a high-tech, frog-shaped smart tablet that makes Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang’s jobs exponentially harder as they go head to head with an all-new threat to playtime.

The film picks up seven years after Toy Story 4, with Woody (now sporting a poncho and a noticeably thinning hairline) and Buzz reuniting to save Bonnie from her new Lilypad smart tablet. However, this conflict is not just physical. Lilypad arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie, leaving the toys asking a simple but devastating question: will playtime ever be the same?

The film also carries a notable milestone. It is the first Toy Story in franchise history to receive a PG rating.

A Star-Studded Cast Returns and Expands

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen return as Woody and Buzz, respectively, alongside Joan Cusack as Jessie, Blake Clark as Slinky Dog, and Tony Hale as Forky.

Greta Lee voices Lilypad, the film’s central antagonist. Conan O’Brien joins the franchise as Smarty Pants, a new character in the series. Keanu Reeves also returns as Duke Caboom, and Ernie Hudson steps in to voice Combat Carl after Carl Weathers passed away in February 2024.

Therefore, the ensemble feels both familiar and refreshed, which is exactly what a franchise this beloved needs after a seven-year gap.

Andrew Stanton Is Back in the Director’s Chair

Andrew Stanton, who helmed Finding Nemo, Wall-E, and Finding Dory, directs the film. Stanton co-wrote all four previous Toy Story films and is credited as the sole screenwriter on Toy Story 5. Kenna Harris serves as co-director, with Lindsey Collins producing.

Because Stanton has such deep roots in this world, his return gives the sequel a creative anchor that matters. Director commentary on the film suggests the team leaned hard into the emotional stakes of toys competing with modern technology for a child’s attention.

Big Expectations Ahead of Opening Day

The film arrives at a moment of renewed momentum for Disney and Pixar animation. Inside Out 2 dominated the global box office in 2024, grossing more than $1.5 billion and becoming that year’s highest-grossing film.

Toy Story 5 will be Pixar’s 31st feature. The franchise has a track record few animated series can match. Both Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 crossed the billion-dollar mark and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in their respective years. However, expectations are enormous, and the final trailer suggests Pixar knows exactly what it is doing.

Toy Story 5 opens exclusively in theaters on June 19, 2026.
