Marvel Studios moved the VisionQuest premiere on Disney+ up a day, to Tuesday, October 13, at 6 p.m. PT (9 p.m. ET), and the first two episodes will be waiting when it goes live. The series had been set for Wednesday, October 14.

Every episode after that moves from Wednesday to Tuesday as well. The release pattern revealed on October 7 still holds: VisionQuest opens with three straight weeks of double features, then slows to a single episode in each of its last two weeks. The eight-episode season now wraps with its finale on November 10 instead of November 11.

The VisionQuest Episode Schedule

Here is how the season rolls out, with the episode titles Marvel released alongside the new date:

  • October 13: Episode 1, “No Strings,” and Episode 2, “Theseus”
  • October 20: Episode 3, “Reboot,” and Episode 4, “Malware”
  • October 27: Episode 5, “Firewall,” and Episode 6, “Deadlock”
  • November 3: Episode 7, “Immolation”
  • November 10: Episode 8, “Forever,” the finale

The October 13 premiere goes live at 6 p.m. PT, which is 9 p.m. on the East Coast and 2 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, in the UK.

What VisionQuest Is About

VisionQuest closes out the story that began with WandaVision and continued in Agatha All Along. Paul Bettany is back as Vision, who has been living in hiding and searching for new meaning by consulting the AI personas built into his programming. That includes EDITH, played by Emily Hampshire, and Ultron, with James Spader returning to the role for the first time since Avengers: Age of Ultron. A bounty on Vision’s head puts him on the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious young man played by Ruaridh Mollica who may be Vision’s son reborn. Terry Matalas is the showrunner.

“I’ve been hanging out with Terry, trying to figure out how we can tell a Super Hero story about fathers and sons but one with a robot and a human son,” Bettany told the crowd at New York Comic Con on October 8. He said it was Matalas who suggested they “get the band back together and call Spader up, and that’s when I knew we had a show.” Marvel closed the panel with a surprise screening of the first episode.

First reactions from fans at that screening and from critics who had seen more episodes hit social media the same day, and they were largely glowing. Viewers called VisionQuest a worthy successor to WandaVision and a fitting conclusion to the trilogy, and Hampshire and Spader were both singled out as standouts.

If you want a refresher before the October 13 premiere, Marvel has posted the first three episodes of WandaVision for free on YouTube.
