Walt Disney World has effectively confirmed a reopening date for the Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, as first reported by Disney Tourist Blog. The signature dining restaurant is set to reopen on August 28, 2026, with dining reservations and operating hours now live in the My Disney Experience app and on the Walt Disney World website.
A Long-Awaited Return
Yachtsman Steakhouse closed on May 11, 2026 for what Disney called a “refresh” rather than a routine refurbishment, which has fueled speculation that guests could see real changes to the dining room or menu when it returns. Disney has not released concept art or confirmed specific updates, so the scope of the work is still unclear. The restaurant is one piece of a larger, multi-year overhaul at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort that has also brought guest room renovations and the recent refurbishment of the neighboring Crew’s Cup Lounge, which reopened in May.
Disney has not issued a formal press announcement naming August 28 as the official reopening date, but bookable dinner hours from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. starting that day are a reliable sign the restaurant is on track to reopen then, barring delays.
