The Hexed music lineup leans hard on pop and rock hits. Drew Smith shared seven songs tied to Disney Animation’s newest film on Wednesday, and the list runs from Queen and Paramore to Dua Lipa and a Miley Cyrus and Stevie Nicks mashup. It is the clearest look yet at what Hexed will sound like, about four weeks before the film opens in theaters.

The Seven Songs
- “My Girl” by The Mamas & the Papas
- “I Want to Break Free” by Queen
- “Levitating” by Dua Lipa
- “Black Magic” by Little Mix
- “Confident” by Demi Lovato
- “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix)” by Miley Cyrus featuring Stevie Nicks
- “Ain’t It Fun” by Paramore
The list crosses decades. Queen and The Mamas & the Papas sit next to Dua Lipa, Little Mix, Demi Lovato and Paramore, and “Edge of Midnight” is the remix that pairs Miley Cyrus’s “Midnight Sky” with Stevie Nicks’s “Edge of Seventeen,” a track Cyrus released in 2020.
A couple of the titles sound like they were picked with the story in mind. “Black Magic” and “I Want to Break Free” land close to what Disney has shown so far: in the official trailer, Billie learns her mom has been blocking her magic with a purple gem.
Original Music And A Hailee Steinfeld Cover
The licensed songs sit alongside the film’s own music. Kris Bowers, who won an Oscar for The Last Repair Shop, is scoring Hexed, and the film’s star has a song of her own in the mix. Hailee Steinfeld recorded a cover of The Cars’ “Magic” for the movie, and it came out October 23. That cover is not on the seven-song list above.
The full Hexed soundtrack, with Bowers’ score and Steinfeld’s “Magic,” is set for November 20. Disney has not posted an official tracklist or said where each of the seven songs above plays in the film.
When Hexed Opens
Hexed opens in theaters on November 25, the day before Thanksgiving. Steinfeld voices Billie Doe, and Rashida Jones voices her mom, Alice. Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand direct.
Moviegoers will also see something new before the story starts. Hexed opens with a new Disney Animation intro, which turns Steamboat Willie into Sorcerer Mickey before the movie begins.
Tickets are already on sale, and in Hollywood the El Capitan Theatre has a fan event with Billie on November 24, the night before the film opens.
