The skippers on Hong Kong Disneyland’s Jungle River Cruise have a new look. The park’s skippers are now wearing a brand-new Jungle Navigation Company uniform, which the Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassador account showed off on social media as it welcomed the park’s newest Star Skippers.
What The New Skipper Uniform Looks Like
In the photo Hong Kong Disneyland shared, four skippers pose aboard one of the launches in matching outfits, with the boat’s cream canopy and brass lanterns above them. The shirts are long-sleeved and striped in light blue and white, with dark cord laced in a crisscross pattern down the front of the collar. They are paired with brown trousers and cream skipper caps with a badge on the front.
Each shirt also has a badge on the shoulder, and that badge does a job. Hong Kong Disneyland says a red shoulder badge marks a Star Skipper, so guests can now spot one before the boat even leaves the dock. The park said the new uniform “brings even more character to every adventure.”
Two New Star Skippers And A New Board
The uniforms arrived alongside a bit of skipper ceremony. Hong Kong Disneyland named two new Star Skippers, Snowman and Leon, and unveiled a new Star Skipper Board, a display listing the names of past Star Skippers along with others who have made meaningful contributions to the Jungle Navigation Company.
The announcement from the Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassador account called the board a way of “carrying on the spirit and legacy of Jungle River Cruise for generations to come.” Star Skippers are named by term, and Snowman and Leon now take their turn wearing the red badge.
Riding Jungle River Cruise
Jungle River Cruise sits in Adventureland and is Hong Kong’s version of the classic Jungle Cruise, a skipper-guided boat trip along the park’s Rivers of Adventure. The official Jungle River Cruise page lists the current details.
The new uniforms are one of several fresh touches at the park this fall, after Halloween Time brought a new castle show, Mickey’s Happy Halloween Adventure. On your next ride, keep an eye on the shoulders. If your skipper has a red badge, you are riding with one of the park’s Star Skippers, and it could be Snowman or Leon.
