Disney World’s Airport Luggage Transfer Now Covers Coronado Springs And Both Port Orleans Resorts

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter

Walt Disney World’s Airport Luggage Transfer service now covers three more hotels. Guests staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, including Gran Destino Tower, and both Port Orleans Resorts, French Quarter and Riverside, can now send their checked bags straight from the airport to their hotel instead of waiting at baggage claim.

That brings the program to nine Disney hotels. The full list on Disney’s Airport Luggage Transfer page is now:

  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Gran Destino Tower
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
  • Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
  • Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

Caribbean Beach became the first Moderate Resort in the program in August, and now Coronado Springs and the two Port Orleans hotels have joined it alongside the Value Resorts. Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas are still not on the list. Disney calls the service a pilot program, and it is run by BagCheck.

Which Flights Qualify

The airline list has not changed. The service works for guests flying American Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines or United Airlines, and it only covers domestic flights into Orlando International Airport. JetBlue was the most recent airline to sign on, as we covered when JetBlue joined the luggage transfer program. Disney says more airlines could be added.

How It Works

You register online anywhere from 30 days to 24 hours before your departing flight, using your Disney Resort confirmation number and your flight confirmation number. Book more than seven days out and Disney mails you luggage tags. Register closer to your trip and you will not get tags, but your bags still get delivered, and you can track them through the link in your confirmation email.

On travel day, you check in with your airline as usual and pay any checked bag fees. When you land in Orlando, you skip baggage claim and head straight to Walt Disney World. Disney says to allow up to four hours from your flight’s arrival for the bags to reach your hotel.

Once they arrive, you can pick them up at Luggage Assistance or Bell Services in the lobby, or call from your room phone to have them brought up. Gratuities are not included, so keep a few dollars handy if you go with room delivery.

For anyone who misses Disney’s Magical Express, this is the closest thing to it at Walt Disney World right now. It does not include a ride from the airport, so you still need your own way to the resort, but it takes the wait at the carousel out of arrival day for a much bigger group of guests.
