Disney Is Now Calling Guests To Cancel Reservations Ahead Of The Wolfgang Puck Closure

Dining room table setting at Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill at Disney Springs

The Wolfgang Puck closure at Disney Springs is now being handled by phone. Walt Disney World has started calling guests who hold reservations at Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill for dates from September 14 onward, canceling those bookings and offering to help them find another restaurant.

Cast members making those calls are telling guests plainly that the restaurant will not be open going forward. Neither Disney nor Wolfgang Puck has issued a public statement confirming a permanent closure.

The Calls Say What The Website Would Not

Until now, the evidence has been entirely mechanical. The booking calendar simply stopped offering dates. Reservations still appear through Sunday, September 13, showing as fully booked, and nothing is bookable from Monday, September 14 forward. The page itself never gave a reason, and availability at the neighboring Disney Springs restaurants has not changed.

A blocked calendar can mean a lot of things. A refurbishment, a systems issue, a seasonal pause. A cast member telling a guest on the phone that the restaurant is not reopening is a different order of information, and it is the closest thing to confirmation anyone has produced so far.

Still Nothing Official

Walt Disney World has not responded to requests for comment about the closure. Puck’s team has not made a public statement either. Disney has also not named a replacement concept for the space, which is unusual for Disney Springs, where a departure is normally announced alongside whatever is moving in.

That silence is worth keeping in mind. Everything about this closure has come out sideways, through a booking system going dark and now through phone calls, rather than through any announcement from the company or the chef.

What Is Actually Closing

Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill is a roughly 250-seat restaurant in the Town Center neighborhood, across from Planet Hollywood, and it has been reported to be closing for good on September 13. It opened in November 2018 as the successor to Puck’s earlier Disney Springs locations, and its exit leaves Walt Disney World without a Wolfgang Puck restaurant for the first time since 1997, when Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe opened on what was then the Downtown Disney West Side.

The attached walk-up Gelato Bar is part of the same operation and is expected to go with it. Guests who still want a last meal have until Sunday, September 13, and with the booking calendar showing no availability, walking up remains the only route in.

We will update this story if Disney or Puck confirms the closure directly, or if a replacement concept is named for one of the largest dining footprints in Town Center.
