Andres Robles, celebrating his 8th birthday, along with his parents Alejandra and Jose Robles, were selected as Disneyland’s honorary one billionth guest party. The family joined Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on the platform of the Main Street U.S.A. train station for a brief ceremony, where they helped unveil an updated sign reading “Population 1,000,000,000.”

Valerie Suldo became the 100 millionth guest on June 17, 1971, followed by Gert Schelvis as the 200 millionth on January 8, 1981. Claudine Masson took the honor as the 300 millionth guest on September 1, 1989, and Minnie Pepito was celebrated as the 400 millionth guest on July 5, 1997. The last widely publicized ceremony came on January 8, 2004, when Bill Trow of Australia entered as the 500 millionth guest, joining Mickey Mouse to update the population sign and taking home lifetime passes and a stay at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel.
