Rapunzel and Flynn Rider have been spotted in the flesh. The first look at Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim in costume on the set of Disney’s live-action Tangled surfaced online on Friday, giving fans their earliest glimpse of the leads as production continues in Spain.
What The Set Photos Show
The unofficial images show Croft with her hair styled into a massive braid, instantly recognizable from the floating lanterns sequence in the kingdom of Corona, while Manheim wears a faithful recreation of Flynn’s signature vest and boots. As with all set photos, the usual caveat applies: costumes and staging seen mid-production do not always reflect the finished film. Still, the fidelity to the 2010 animated designs will be reassuring for fans worried about the adaptation straying too far.
Production Rolls On In Spain
The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey is helming the film, which also stars Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel and Diego Luna in an original role. Filming is based at the Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante, where crews have built a full-scale version of Rapunzel’s tower. The remake is targeting theaters in 2028, as we covered when the live-action Tangled release window was first reported. Additional analysis of the new images is available at MovieWeb.
With the leads now photographed in costume and the tower standing in Alicante, the project that was once paused indefinitely is very clearly full steam ahead. Expect Disney to release official first-look images on its own timeline, likely once principal photography wraps.
