Meet Solara, The Disney Destiny’s Halloween Pumpkin Tree Revealed Two Days Before Its First Halloween On The High Seas Sailing

Disney Cruise Line has introduced Solara, the Halloween Pumpkin Tree that will preside over the Grand Hall of the Disney Destiny when the ship sails its first Halloween on the High Seas voyage on September 7. Disney Parks revealed her on Saturday with a set of photos showing the tree fully installed and lit in orange, purple and green beneath the Destiny’s faceted chandelier.

The Seventh Tree In The Fleet

Every Disney Cruise Line ship that hosts Halloween on the High Seas gets its own named Pumpkin Tree, each with a personality and a story that anchors the season’s storytelling in the atrium. Solara joins Grim on the Disney Dream, Muckelbones on the Disney Fantasy, Bog on the Disney Wonder, Reap on the Disney Magic, Boo on the Disney Wish and Ginger on the Disney Treasure. The Disney Parks Blog guide to the season published in April listed those six and left the Destiny’s tree unnamed; Saturday’s reveal fills in the blank two days before she goes to work.

Solara follows the Wish class pattern rather than the older ships’ Sleepy Hollow look. Like Boo and Ginger, she is a figure as much as a tree: a feminine face emerges from purple carved bark, framed by a hood of wood and a vine of small orange gourds worn like a necklace, with green-shadowed eyes and a carved spiral at the chin. Bronze pumpkins hang from her twisted branches, several carved into jack-o’-lanterns that glow from within, and vines coil along the limbs. In the wide shots she stands behind a low fence at the foot of the grand staircase, near the Destiny’s bronze statue group, with the chandelier overhead washing the hall in purple and then green-gold.

A First Halloween For The Destiny

The Disney Destiny entered service in November 2025, so this fall marks the first time the Heroes and Villains themed ship has hosted Halloween on the High Seas at all. Its Grand Hall draws on Wakanda from Black Panther, with deep purples and gold accents, and Solara’s palette was clearly designed to sit inside that room rather than fight it. Disney Parks framed her debut as a question, asking whether she is silly or spooky and inviting guests to decide.

Halloween on the High Seas sailings run on select itineraries from September through October and layer seasonal entertainment over the standard cruise: the Pumpkin Tree storytelling that brings each tree to life, Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party on the pool deck, trick-or-treating routes through the ship, character appearances in Halloween costumes and themed food and drink. Guests are encouraged to dress up, and on a ship built around heroes and villains the costume pool is deep.

The Destiny currently sails from Fort Lauderdale and is scheduled to move to Port Canaveral in November 2027, which means Solara’s first two Halloween seasons will be spent in Fort Lauderdale before the ship joins the Wish and the Treasure up the coast. The first Halloween on the High Seas sailing aboard the Destiny departs September 7.
