The walk-up list at The Beak and Barrel has already come to an end. Just days after the feature quietly went live in the My Disney Experience app, Disney has removed the walk-up list option for the Pirates of the Caribbean tavern at Magic Kingdom, leaving guests once again reliant on reservations to get a table inside one of Walt Disney World’s most in-demand new bars.
A Brief Run For The Walk-Up List
The walk-up list appeared earlier this week in the My Disney Experience app, giving guests without a reservation a chance to join a virtual queue and be notified when a spot opened up. It was a welcome development for a venue that has been notoriously difficult to book since opening in Adventureland, and it briefly suggested Disney was loosening the reins on access to the tavern.
That window has now closed. The option has been pulled for The Beak and Barrel, and the same walk-up list feature has also been removed for GEO-82, the lounge inside Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, which had its own walk-up option go live around the same time. Disney has not publicly explained the reversal, and it is unclear whether the feature was removed because it was rolled out prematurely or because the venues were overwhelmed by demand.
What Guests Should Do Now
For the time being, guests hoping to visit The Beak and Barrel will need to secure a reservation through the My Disney Experience app or the Walt Disney World website. Reservations for the tavern have consistently been among the hardest to land at Magic Kingdom, with availability often disappearing within moments of being released.
It is possible the walk-up list returns once Disney works through whatever prompted the removal, and the fact that the feature was built and briefly activated suggests the capability is ready to go whenever the company decides to switch it back on.
