The Pursuit: F1 Academy, a new documentary special about the all-women racing series, premieres globally on Disney+ on November 19. Disney announced the special Thursday as the latest piece of its “Fuel the Magic” collaboration with Formula 1, and it follows the drivers of the 2025 F1 Academy season from race weekends around the world to the moments away from the track.

Disney named four drivers the cameras follow: Doriane Pin, Maya Weug, Chloe Chambers and Alisha Palmowski. The special also goes inside the teams and the series leadership, including F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff. Disney produced the special in collaboration with ESPN.

A Season That Went Down To Las Vegas

Viewers who followed the 2025 season already know how it ends. Pin, the Mercedes-backed French driver, secured the championship in Las Vegas in November, holding off Ferrari’s Maya Weug, while Chambers won a race that same weekend. Two of the four drivers in the documentary were still fighting for the title in the final round, which gives the special a built-in final act.

Disney is pitching the special as a look at ambition, perseverance and representation in motorsport, and at the personal sacrifices it takes for young drivers to climb toward the top levels of the sport. Crews filmed it at race locations around the world.

Where Minnie And Daisy Come In

F1 Academy has been a big part of Disney’s racing year. Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck joined the series at the track this spring, including a stop in Montréal, as part of a season-long rollout that has also included new merchandise drops and a visit from Lightning McQueen, who took an honorary lap at Monza in September. Disney lays out the full rundown on its Disney and Formula 1 race season page.

A New Mickey x F1 Collection In Paris

The racing tie-in also landed at Disneyland Paris on Thursday. A new Mickey x F1 collection is now on the shelves at Disney Wonders, the Disney Village store that opened in September. Photos from DLP Report show a Mickey plush in a red racing suit holding his helmet, packaged in a red display box, a second Mickey plush in a black racing suit, a cream hoodie with “Fuel the Magic” and a Mickey and Formula 1 design printed on the back, and a black cap with a Mickey logo on the front. Prices were not shown.

The Pursuit: F1 Academy streams on Disney+ worldwide starting Thursday, November 19.
