Two big names turned up at Disney California Adventure last week for the Toy Story 5 world premiere festivities. Disneyland Resort shared photos of Tom Hanks and Conan O’Brien posing with Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear at DCA, giving fans a fun behind-the-scenes glimpse at the star power that turned out for the occasion.
Hanks, of course, has voiced Woody since the very first Toy Story in 1995 and reprises the role in Toy Story 5. O’Brien is a newcomer to the franchise, voicing Smarty Pants, a new toy character in the film. The photo captures both actors in full Disney Park mode, and the Pixar character appearances make for a genuinely delightful image.

O’Brien’s casting as Smarty Pants is exactly the kind of left-field choice Pixar excels at. His comedic sensibility is a natural fit for the absurdist toy humor the franchise has always embraced, and the character’s name alone suggests Pixar has leaned into O’Brien’s persona for the role. Seeing him at DCA alongside the actual Pixar characters is a fun full-circle moment for the promotional campaign.
