The top of the ride is going on at Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings, the Up Sky Swings attraction rising at Disney Adventure World in Disneyland Paris. Crews were assembling the top support structure on Halloween, just two days after photos showed the tower and swing arms in place.
DLP Report shared a new look at the site on October 31, and the ride now has a very different silhouette against the sky.

What The New Photo Shows
The central tower is still the anchor of the whole ride, with the long steel arms that will carry the swings reaching out on both sides. What is new is the tall, open frame now sitting on top of the tower, above those arms. It looks like a cage of steel ribs for now, with a bright orange panel visible inside, and a tower crane still stands next to the site.
When we last checked in, the tower and arms were up and crews were fitting the first painted panels, including one of Russell and his balloons, which we covered in our look at the Sky Swings structure going up. Getting the top section into place is the next big step in the build.
Disney has said the very top of the attraction will carry a golden spike representing Carl and Ellie’s house, echoing Pascal perched on the roof of Raiponce Tangled Spin across the path. Nothing in the new photo shows that finishing piece yet, so for now the top is still mostly open steel.
How The Ride Will Work
Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings is a family swing ride built on the classic flying-chair carousel. Disneyland Paris says it will have 64 places on 48 chairs, with several two-seat chairs so guests can ride in pairs. The dome overhead tilts as the ride spins, which Disneyland Paris says intensifies the feeling of flight.
The story invites guests to join the Wilderness Explorers, the club of young adventurers Russell belongs to, and earn their Aviation badge to the soundtrack of Up. The queue is split into four zones tied to key moments from the film, with props like young Carl’s aviator helmet and goggles and Ellie’s adventure book.
Imagineers officially launched construction in November 2025, and Disneyland Paris calls the ride a new milestone in the transformation of Disney Adventure World. Disneyland Paris is still only saying it will open in 2027, with no exact date yet.
