VisionQuest’s First Soundtrack Album Is Out Now With 23 Tracks From Mick Giacchino

The VisionQuest soundtrack is here, at least the first half of it. Hollywood Records has released VisionQuest, Vol. 1 (Episodes 1 to 4) Original Soundtrack, with 23 tracks of Mick Giacchino’s score from the Marvel Television series now streaming on Disney+. The album is out now on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and other platforms, as Laughing Place reported.

A second album, VisionQuest, Vol. 2 (Episodes 5 to 8), is set for November 12, covering the back half of the season.

Giacchino On Scoring Vision

Giacchino built the score as a hybrid, mixing a live orchestra with synthesizers and electronically processed organic recordings so the music could carry both sides of Paul Bettany’s Vision, the synthetic and the human.

“Scoring a series as unique as VisionQuest was an absolute honor,” Giacchino said. “Its tonal range, from the wonder of a quantum computer’s inner workings to the grief of losing a family, gave me the opportunity to play in many different sandboxes.” He added: “My hope is that through this score, audiences will discover Vision alongside the story, uncovering the humanity within the machine.”

Fans of the show’s sense of humor will spot it in the track list too: it includes a cue titled “Forgive Me for I Have Synthed.”

His First Marvel Project

VisionQuest is Giacchino’s first project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though the name is a familiar one there. He is the son of composer Michael Giacchino, who scored Doctor Strange and Spider-Man: Homecoming, among other Marvel films. Mick Giacchino won a Primetime Emmy for his score for HBO’s The Penguin, and his Disney credits include Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, The Muppets Mayhem, Zootopia+ and Walt Disney Imagineering’s Zootopia: Hot Pursuit attraction at Shanghai Disneyland. He also wrote additional music for The Batman and scored Netflix’s animated film Extinct and AMC+’s That Dirty Black Bag.

The series arrived Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes hours before its Disney+ premiere.

Revisit The Whole Trilogy

For anyone who wants the full arc, an official WandaVision Trilogy playlist is also available, pulling music from WandaVision, Agatha All Along and VisionQuest into one place. With the two volumes split across Episodes 1 to 4 and 5 to 8, the full season’s score will be streaming once the second album lands next month.
