Walt Disney World 55th Anniversary merchandise is now available at Disney Store online, so fans who could not make it to Florida for the October 1 celebration can shop the collection from home. The online lineup starts at $14.99 and includes a $129 replica of the plaque Roy O. Disney used to dedicate the resort in 1971.
Much of the collection carries the “55 Magical Years” anniversary logo, a big 55 sitting on top of a retro globe, with the rounded bottom of each five forming one of Mickey’s ears. It is the same look that showed up in the parks when the 55th anniversary merchandise arrived at Walt Disney World ahead of the big day. Only part of that in-park assortment has made the jump online so far.
What Is On Disney Store Now
For the kitchen and the commute, there is the Walt Disney World 55th Anniversary Mug for $16.99, a 15-ounce ceramic mug with retro graphics of Florida, a sailboat, Cinderella Castle and Disney’s Contemporary Resort, plus a Mickey and Minnie 33-ounce travel cup with a straw for $27.99.
Apparel includes a Mickey Mouse checklist T-shirt for adults at $39.99 and a Mickey Mouse pullover hoodie at $69.99. A Mickey Mouse throw blanket is also $69.99.
Smaller pieces include a felt logo pennant with Cinderella Castle, Spaceship Earth, The Hollywood Tower Hotel and Tree of Life icons, and a keychain bag charm, both $14.99, along with a 55th Anniversary MagicBand+ for $44.99.
The Dedication Plaque Replica
The standout for longtime fans is the $129 Walt Disney World Dedication Plaque Replica. It reproduces the text Roy O. Disney dedicated the resort with, calling Walt Disney World “a tribute to the philosophy and life of Walter Elias Disney,” and it carries the “Dedicated this 25th day of October, 1971” line along with Roy’s name. The metal replica has raised lettering, an antiqued bronze finish and mounting holes on the back, and it measures about 10 inches tall. The original plaque still sits at the base of the flagpole on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom.
Disney Store also lists a limited edition 16-inch Cinderella doll for $149.99 and a Walt Disney World Resort 55th Anniversary gift card under the same anniversary banner. The doll is limited to an edition of 5,000, with a limit of two per guest, and her gown takes its inspiration from Prince Charming Regal Carrousel in the castle forecourt.
Before You Order
This is a select set of items rather than the full in-park collection, so some pieces you may have seen at Walt Disney World are not online. Disney has not said whether more of the park assortment will follow, so if something you spotted on a trip is missing from the site, the shops at the resort are still the place to find it.
The Cinderella doll is sold as a limited edition, so it is the piece to grab first if it is on your list. The MagicBand+ works like any other band once it is linked in the My Disney Experience app, so with valid park admission (and a park reservation, if your ticket requires one) it gets you through the gates, and it can check you in at Lightning Lane entrances when you have a separate Lightning Lane entry.
