Yzma has officially joined Oogie Boogie Bash. The Emperor’s New Groove villain made her debut on opening night of the party’s record 33-night run at Disney California Adventure, greeting guests in Grizzly Peak beside her potion cabinet and, yes, delivering the “Pull the lever!” line fans hoped for. She is the marquee addition to a villain lineup that reads like a rare-character wish list.
The Full Villain Roster
This year’s treat trail hosts: Oogie Boogie holds court in Hollywood Land, Ernesto de la Cruz performs near the Hyperion Theater, Agatha Harkness returns to Avengers Campus, and Dr. Doofenshmirtz, Hades and Judge Doom all haunt Hollywood Land, with Syndrome and Maleficent back after joining the party last year. Disney’s own description promises Yzma will be “pulling every lever” she can find in pursuit of her latest scheme, and the character kept that promise on night one, lamenting the wrong lever like it was 2000 all over again.
Opening Night Delivered The Deep Cuts
The returning favorites were in form on opening week: Ernesto de la Cruz borrowing a classic Jungle Cruise joke to present guests with the eighth wonder of the world, Hades running hot even by his standards, and Agatha Harkness bringing her witchy energy back to Avengers Campus. Beyond the trails, the party’s dressed-character tradition continues with Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow as the Sanderson Sisters, Pain, Panic and Megara from Hercules, and Mickey, Donald and Goofy in Kingdom Hearts outfits.
No Parade Means More Villains Roaming
With the Frightfully Fun Parade retired this year to make way for Coco construction, several villains who once rolled by on floats are meeting guests instead, and party-goers have spotted the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil, Dr. Facilier, Anastasia and Drizella, and even Gaston around the park. The parade’s replacement, Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake street party, got its first look the day before the party opened and anchors the new-for-2026 entertainment.
Oogie Boogie Bash runs on select nights through October 31, and this year’s seasonal food went on sale three days before the party even started, a rollout we covered when the Halloween menus went live across the resort. For villain hunters, the pitch is simple: Judge Doom, Ernesto and now Yzma are not characters you casually run into on a Tuesday. Except at this party, where Tuesday is exactly when it happened.
