Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos are getting their Hollywood Walk of Fame stars on the same day. The two Good Morning America anchors will be honored together in a double ceremony on Thursday, November 5, Laughing Place reports, after Variety shared the date on Instagram.
Both were named to the Walk of Fame’s class of 2026 last year, and theirs is the only double ceremony on this year’s schedule. Both stars are being awarded in the Television category. The pair have shared the GMA desk since Stephanopoulos joined the show as a co-anchor in 2009, and now their stars will go in side by side as well.
Robin Roberts
Roberts came to Good Morning America as a co-anchor in 2005 after a long run in sports television. Before GMA, she was a host on ESPN’s SportsCenter and a contributor to NFL Primetime.
She founded her own company, Rock’n Robin Productions, in 2014, and she was named a Disney Legend in 2019 during the D23 Expo in Anaheim. She still handles big interviews for ABC News, and she recently sat down with Bob Iger on Good Morning America.
George Stephanopoulos
Stephanopoulos joined ABC News in 1997 as an analyst on This Week, then took over the Sunday show himself in 2002, and it still carries his name as This Week with George Stephanopoulos. He is also a co-anchor of Good Morning America, which puts him on ABC’s air both on weekday mornings and on Sundays.
Before television, he worked in politics, most notably as communications director for Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign and in the Clinton White House. His work has earned him four Emmys, a DuPont Award, three Edward R. Murrow Awards and two Cronkite Awards.
Another GMA Star On The Boulevard
Roberts and Stephanopoulos are not the first from the GMA desk to get a star. Their co-host Michael Strahan, who joined GMA full-time in 2016, received his in 2023, so once the November 5 ceremony wraps, three of the show’s anchors will have stars on the Walk of Fame.
They are not the only Disney names in this year’s class, either. Disney Legend Lea Salonga, the singing voice of both Jasmine in Aladdin and Mulan, was also named to the class of 2026, in the Live Theatre/Live Performance category. Like Roberts, Salonga is a Disney Legend, so the class includes more than one name from Disney’s own hall of fame.
