Encanto is getting its first stage adaptation anywhere in the world, and it will play at sea. Disney Cruise Line announced on Wednesday that an all-new Encanto musical will open in the Walt Disney Theatre aboard the Disney Believe, the fourth and final Wish-class ship.

The show is titled “Disney Encanto” and will debut exclusively on the Believe. It follows Mirabel on her quest to save her family and their magical home, and Disney says Lin-Manuel Miranda’s songs from the Academy Award-winning film, including “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure”, will be part of the show. Disney also says the production’s costumes, sets and traditional dance styles will draw on Colombia’s diverse cultures.
It opens with the ship, which sails its maiden voyage on December 18, 2027, from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, a date announced during the same livestream.
A First Look At The Madrigal Casita On Stage

The concept art Disney released shows the full Madrigal home built across the stage as a two-story set, with tiled roofs, blue balconies, a curved staircase and flowering vines spilling over the walls. The family’s magic candle glows in an alcove above the arched front doors, lit by a spotlight from above.
Mirabel stands at center stage in her embroidered skirt with her arms spread wide, surrounded by dancers and members of the family. Isabela is on the right in her lilac dress, and Bruno watches from the upstairs balcony in his green ruana. A framed portrait hangs on the far right wall, and townspeople fill the stairs and doorways behind the family.
Three Shows In One Theater
“Disney Encanto” will share the Walt Disney Theatre with two other productions. Tangled: The Musical joins from the Disney Magic with a reimagined set and new effects, and “Disney Seas the Adventure,” the original stage show created for the Wish class, returns. The last two Wish-class ships each got a show of their own, The Tale of Moana on the Disney Treasure and Disney Hercules on the Disney Destiny, and “Disney Encanto” is the Believe’s.
Encanto was already one of the stories Disney promised for the ship. When the Believe was named in March, Disney listed Encanto alongside Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana and The Little Mermaid as the films that would shape its venues and entertainment.
What Else Is On The Believe
The show was one of a long run of reveals during Wednesday’s livestream, which Disney first scheduled for October 7 to cover the ship’s homeport, itineraries, venues and entertainment. Bookings open October 19, 2026. Disney also introduced Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast, Inside Out: Joyful Sweets, the Wishing Well inspired by Snow White, the Zootopia entertainment hub Gazelle, the Skygazers pub, the Sea Notes piano lounge and the two-story Believe Tower Suite. The Grand Hall is themed to Moana.
