Holiday Sleigh Rides Return To Fort Wilderness December 1 Through 30 At $80 A Ride

Holiday Sleigh Rides at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

Holiday Sleigh Rides are back at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, and reservations for the 2026 season are open now. The horse-drawn rides run December 1 through December 30, with no rides on Christmas Eve, and each ride costs $80, the same price as last year’s season.

It is one of the quieter holiday traditions at Walt Disney World. Instead of fighting the crowds at Magic Kingdom, you climb into a sleigh at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch and spend about 25 minutes rolling along the wooded trails of the campground. Disney lists the experience for all ages.

How Many People Fit In A Sleigh

Each sleigh holds up to four adults, or two adults and three small children. That makes it an easy fit for a couple or a small family, but a bigger group will need to book more than one ride. Guests who use a wheelchair need to be able to step up into the sleigh.

Rides leave from the new Tri-Circle-D Ranch barn near the Settlement Bus Depot, which sits deep inside the resort. If you drive, you park near the main entrance of Fort Wilderness and take a complimentary bus to the Settlement Depot, and Disney asks guests to allow 60 minutes for that trip. Coming from somewhere else on property, plan on up to 90 minutes. Check-in is 15 minutes before your reservation time, so build the bus ride into your evening plans rather than squeezing it in after a park day.

Booking And Cancellation Rules

Reservations open 60 days ahead through the Walt Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app. Because of that rolling window, only the early part of the season is bookable right now, and later dates open one day at a time as the season gets closer. If your trip falls in late December, set a reminder for 60 days before your ride date.

Disney recommends booking ahead since availability is limited, though a small number of same-day reservations and walk-ins are offered when space allows. Cancel within 24 hours or miss your slot, and the full $80 is charged. Rides go out in rain and cold, though bad weather can cancel them, and umbrellas and ponchos are not provided, so bring your own.

Making A Night Of It At Fort Wilderness

The ride itself is short, but the Settlement area has Trail’s End Restaurant and Crockett’s Tavern a short walk from the barn, so it is easy to turn a 25-minute ride into an evening. The resort has had a busy year, too, with a new pool and refreshed lobby opening over the summer.

With each sleigh seating only a handful of people and the season running just 29 nights, availability is tight. Anyone hoping to ride during the week before Christmas should book as soon as their date comes into the 60-day window.
