The second full trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has arrived, and it does not hold back. Released as tickets officially went on sale, the new trailer confirms two of the film’s biggest storylines: Peter Parker will come face to face with a savage, rage-filled Hulk, and his powers are mutating in ways he cannot control, including organic webbing. Spider-Puberty Is Real
The trailer leans hard into Peter’s mysterious physical evolution. His artificial web-shooters fly off his wrists as organic webbing begins firing from his body, his eyes periodically turn completely black, and Peter admits he feels totally out of control. That evolution is what drives him to Bruce Banner, with Peter asking whether Banner ever found a way to suppress mutating DNA. Fans have already connected the imagery to classic comic storylines like The Six Arms Saga and The Other, both of which dealt with Peter’s powers transforming beyond his control.
The Savage Hulk Returns
The trailer also delivers onscreen confirmation that Mark Ruffalo is not just playing Bruce Banner: the rage-filled, savage Hulk that has been absent from the MCU for years is back, and Spider-Man ends up on the wrong side of him. Between Hulk, Michael Mando’s Scorpion laying a beating on Spidey, and the ninja clan known as The Hand swarming him in a prison sequence, Peter has rarely looked this outmatched. Meanwhile, the cloaked figure widely assumed to be Sadie Sink’s still-unrevealed character shows off major telekinetic abilities, deepening one of the film’s most closely guarded mysteries.
A Record-Setting Marketing Machine
The film’s first trailer became the most-viewed trailer of all time with 718.6 million views in 24 hours, and per market research firm WaveMetrix, the second trailer racked up 590.8 million views in its first week, making it the second most-viewed trailer ever. Whatever Sony and Marvel are doing, it is working: the film’s presales are already the best since No Way Home.
