Charlie Cox went into the third season of Daredevil: Born Again knowing it would be the last, and he’s glad he did. Speaking with Brandon Davis at New York Comic Con, Cox said the heads-up gave everyone a chance to plan, and that the final season will “play the hits a little bit.”
“I think this is a much better way to do it, to be able to plan for it,” Cox told Davis, who shared the clip on X on Saturday. Born Again, he said, “has been gravy. It’s all extra.” The full sit-down also includes Krysten Ritter and Finn Jones, who are both back for the final run.
A Planned Goodbye This Time
This isn’t Daredevil’s first ending. Netflix canceled the original after three seasons in 2018, and Cox spent years away from the role until he turned up as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. Born Again followed on Disney+.
Cox didn’t say what the hits are, but the Defenders reunion is the easy guess. At the Marvel Television panel at New York Comic Con on October 8, Cox was joined on stage by Ritter and Jones, and Marvel showed new footage from the final season. Mike Colter missed the panel, but his Luke Cage, who came back in the Season 2 finale, rounds out the group, so Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist will all share the screen again.
Where Season 3 Picks Up
Murdock admitted in court that he’s Daredevil, which opened him up to criminal charges, and Season 2 ended with him behind bars while Fisk, forced out as mayor, left the country. Jessica Jones fought alongside him during the season.
Cox isn’t the only one talking up the ending. Co-star Matthew Lillard has promised the final season will be explosive.
Marvel hasn’t locked an exact premiere date, but the final season is expected on Disney+ in March 2027. Both seasons of Daredevil: Born Again are streaming now on Disney+, along with the original Netflix series and The Defenders, for anyone who wants to catch up before Matt Murdock’s last round.
