Disneyland has filed for 23 new signs at its Lilo & Stitch Parking Lot, the lot near the Downtown Disney District where the resort’s west-side rideshare area opened in September. The sign permit, now in plan review with the city of Anaheim, covers two illuminated post signs, six non-illuminated post signs and 15 non-illuminated signs mounted on posts that are already there.
The filing landed in Anaheim’s permit system this week, one number after the 17 directional signs Disneyland requested for what it calls “Harbor Rideshare.” We covered that filing, and the permit for the new rideshare location at Disney California Adventure’s Gate 10, in our earlier story.
What Is Already In Place At The Lot
The Lilo & Stitch lot was a work zone for months before the drop-off opened. An earlier permit for the lot covered site work for a new gate arm and two light poles “at new rideshare area,” and that permit was marked closed in late September. By then the drop-off was already in use. In September, Lyft began listing it as a Downtown Disney stop, just outside the former ESPN Zone building that now houses Lululemon.
The new filing does not say where the signs will stand or what they will read, and Disneyland has not said whether the lot’s layout or traffic flow will change once they go up. When the drop-off first opened, the resort told Mickey Visit that some of the surrounding area was being repaved and that parts of the traffic pattern were temporary.
Getting Dropped Off Today
For now, nothing changes for guests. Disneyland’s parking page still lists two official pick-up and drop-off areas. To reach the Downtown Disney District area, take Magic Way from Disneyland Drive, turn left at Downtown Drive and follow the signs. Standard parking rates apply after a 15-minute grace period. The other area is on Harbor Boulevard, entered from the right southbound lane between South Manchester Avenue and Disney Way.
Disneyland has said it will keep a rideshare pick-up and drop-off spot on both the east and west sides of the resort, though those spots may shift for a while as construction moves along. That matters most on the Harbor Boulevard side, where the resort broke ground in August on its new parking structure and a bridge that will carry guests over Harbor Boulevard.
That structure is planned with 6,000 spaces, security screening and rideshare areas of its own. Disneyland has not announced an opening date for the Gate 10 location or said how signage will change at either drop-off. We will keep watching the permit record.
