Magic Kingdom Extended Evening Hours Return January 6

Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom

Extended Evening Hours are coming back to Magic Kingdom on Wednesday, January 6, 2027. Disney’s park calendar now shows the after-hours perk at Magic Kingdom from 9 to 11 p.m. that night, and it is the only Magic Kingdom date on the calendar.

Extended Evening Hours give guests at Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resort hotels, plus a handful of other select hotels, two extra hours in a park after it closes to everyone else. At Magic Kingdom, that means time on the headliners after the day crowd has headed for the exits.

What January 6 Looks Like

On January 6, Magic Kingdom is scheduled to open at 9 a.m., with Early Theme Park Entry starting at 8:30 a.m. The park closes to regular guests at 9 p.m., and Extended Evening Hours run until 11 p.m. Disney lists all of its hours as subject to change.

Nothing else is posted at Magic Kingdom between now and then. Many of the park’s evenings through December 22 go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, where the cheapest party nights have already sold out. Disney has only published hours through January 7, so more January dates could still show up. Last winter, Magic Kingdom’s Extended Evening Hours came back on a Wednesday in early January too, according to Blog Mickey, which also counted 23 attractions on the January 6 list, including TRON Lightcycle / Run, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion.

Where Else You Can Stay Late

If you are staying at a Deluxe resort before January, the other parks still have regular nights on the calendar:

  • EPCOT: Mondays from 9 to 11 p.m., starting November 2 and running through January 4
  • Animal Kingdom: Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m., from November 4 through December 30
  • Hollywood Studios: tonight, October 28, from 9 to 11 p.m., with no other nights posted through January 7

The Animal Kingdom window runs earlier because the park closes at 6 p.m. on those Wednesdays. EPCOT’s late nights begin when the park closes at 9 p.m. on those Mondays.

Planning Around It

If you have a January trip booked at a Deluxe resort and January 6 falls inside it, that night is worth building around. Plan a slower afternoon, take a break at the hotel, and come back for the last two hours when the crowds thin out.

Every Disney resort hotel guest gets Early Theme Park Entry, the 30 minutes before opening at every park, every day. Extended Evening Hours are the Deluxe perk, and you still need valid admission for that park on that day to use them.
