Tangled: The Musical is getting a new home at sea. Disney Cruise Line announced on Wednesday that the show will play the Walt Disney Theatre aboard the Disney Believe with all-new set designs and special effects built only for that ship.

The musical is not new to Disney Cruise Line. It premiered aboard the Disney Magic in November 2015, with Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater adapting the film’s story and score for the stage and adding three new songs. Those are “Flower of Gold,” the opening number led by Flynn Rider, the comic “Wanted Man,” and “When She Returns,” a number featuring Rapunzel, Flynn and the townsfolk. The Believe production keeps the show but rebuilds how it looks, with sets and effects Disney says will be exclusive to the new ship.

Disney released a poster for the Believe version framed in gold flowers and topped with the Walt Disney Theatre name. It shows Rapunzel with her braid wound around the frame, the kingdom’s castle under a sky full of floating lanterns, and Rapunzel and Flynn in silhouette in their boat on the water, the film’s lantern scene.

Disney Parks posted a full performance of the Disney Magic production to YouTube, which shows the version the Believe will be redesigning.

Three Shows In One Theater

Tangled will share the Believe’s Walt Disney Theatre with two other shows. Disney also announced “Disney Encanto”, the first stage adaptation of the film, which will debut exclusively on the Believe. “Disney Seas the Adventure,” the original stage show created for the Wish class, returns as well.

Tangled is already part of the Wish class. On the Disney Wish, Rapunzel and Pascal are sculpted on the stern, painting the scroll artwork around the ship’s name. The Believe’s stern goes to Toy Story instead, with Woody and Buzz Lightyear drawing the ship’s name in crayon.

When It Opens

All three shows open with the ship. General on-sale bookings open October 19, 2026. The Believe sails its maiden voyage on December 18, 2027, from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, a date revealed during the same livestream. It is the fourth and final Wish-class ship, joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny, and is under construction at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.

The livestream, which Disney scheduled for October 7, also introduced Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast, Inside Out: Joyful Sweets, the Wishing Well, Gazelle, Skygazers, Sea Notes and the two-story Believe Tower Suite.
