The Belchers are getting snowed in for the holidays. The Bob’s Burgers holiday short “On the Fort Day of Christmas” premieres December 7 on Hulu, creator Loren Bouchard announced Saturday at the show’s New York Comic Con panel, where fans also got the first look at it.
Unlike the regular episodes, which air on Fox, this one is a Hulu exclusive. In the U.S., anyone with the Disney+ and Hulu bundle can also watch it through Hulu on Disney+. The title plays on the old carol, swapping in the fort at the center of the story.
A Fort, A Snowstorm And Three Hopeful Kids
The story is pure Belcher kid energy. A record-breaking snowstorm hits, and Tina, Gene and Louise set out to build a massive fort to make the most of it. The clip shown in New York catches the kids getting their hopes up for some wintertime fun, and the sneak peek is now on the show’s Bob’s Burgers Side Orders YouTube channel if you missed the panel.
Bouchard was joined on stage by the voices fans know best: H. Jon Benjamin as Bob, John Roberts as Linda, Kristen Schaal as Louise, Eugene Mirman as Gene and Dan Mintz as Tina, along with Larry Murphy, who voices Teddy.
This is the second Comic Con stop for the short. It was first announced at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on July 25, one of the Saturday panels in Disney Entertainment Television’s 2026 Comic-Con lineup. New York added the two things fans were missing: a premiere date and footage.
What It Means For Season 17
The holiday short is a bonus, not a replacement for the regular season. Season 17 returns to Fox in early 2027, and the series is already renewed through Season 19, which carries it through the 2028-29 TV season.
That gives fans something new from the Belchers in December while they wait for the new season.
Bob’s Burgers is produced by 20th Television Animation, now part of Disney. Bouchard executive produces alongside Nora Smith, Dan Fybel and Rich Rinaldi, among others, and the series was co-developed by Jim Dauterive.
If you want to be ready on premiere day, check that your Hulu or bundle subscription is active before December 7, and keep an eye on Hulu for the exact drop time.
