The snow is creeping across Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, one spire at a time. Crews have been dressing the castle for the holidays all week, and the white rooftops and new icicles are already visible from Main Street, U.S.A., nearly a month before the holiday season begins.
It snowed at Disneyland last night!

Snow appeared on the castle’s turrets overnight into October 12. By the morning of October 13 the snow had spread across much more of the roofline, and we noticed it was going up far faster than it did last year. Another spire picked up its snowcap overnight into October 14.
It snowed on one additional spire of Sleeping Beauty Castle overnight! Even though the progress is small I love being able to see it daily. It’s almost Christmastime at Disneyland!

Icicles Arrive Next
On October 15 the next layer went on, as icicles started appearing on the castle. Most of the rooftops are now capped in white, while the pink and purple banners out front are still up. Strong winds this week have kept the banners spinning, and work appeared to pause on October 16, with no new snow added since the day before.
It’s gotten even chillier at Disneyland and icicles have started forming on Sleeping Beauty Castle!

When The Winter Castle Lights Up
All of this is the daytime look for Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle. Disney says the castle will be decked out in icicles, wreaths and festive decor, and each evening it shimmers to life as snow falls and thousands of lights turn on in stages. Wintertime Enchantment returns November 13, 2026, the same day the holiday season starts across the Disneyland Resort and runs through January 6, 2027.
“it’s a small world” Holiday also returns November 13, so the castle snow is one of the first signs you will see that the season is on its way. Until the wreaths and lights are added, the castle will sit in this in-between stage, with Halloween Time still running around it through October 31. We will keep sharing the daily progress as the rest of the decorations go up.
