D23 Night at The Lion King comes to the Hollywood Pantages Theatre on Friday, January 15, 2027, with discounted tickets for D23 Members and a cast talkback after the North American touring production’s performance.
The event is the 7:30 p.m. PT performance. D23 Members who buy through D23’s link get 10% off their ticket and a seat at the exclusive post-show conversation, according to the D23 event page.
Who Is In The Talkback
Four members of the touring cast are scheduled to stay after the show and talk with D23 Members: Danny Grumich, who plays Pumbaa; David D’lancy Wilson, who plays Mufasa; Syndee Winters, who plays Nala; and Gilbert Domally, who plays Simba. D23 notes the lineup is subject to change.
The Pantages is also selling an Extra Magic Package, which D23 says includes “an excellent seat in the theater and show merchandise.” The package is labeled in the seat-map hover text and in the “Your Seats” details at checkout.
The Show Coming To Hollywood
The North American tour of The Lion King has been on the road for more than 24 years, playing more than 10,000 performances in over 90 cities for more than 28 million people. D23 calls it the longest-running and most-attended Broadway tour in North America.
The Broadway production opened November 13, 1997, and is approaching its 30th anniversary. It won six Tony Awards in 1998, including Best Musical, and Julie Taymor, who conceived and directed it and designed its costumes, became the first woman to win the Tony for Best Direction of a Musical. The score pairs Elton John and Tim Rice’s songs from the 1994 film with additional music and lyrics by Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, Taymor and Hans Zimmer.
Before You Buy
The discount and the talkback only apply to tickets bought through the D23 link, so members should start there instead of going straight to the theater’s box office. All sales are final. The Pantages does not offer refunds or exchanges, and D23 tickets cannot be transferred. Guests will not be admitted unless the D23 Member is present.
Tickets are mobile entry through the Broadway In Hollywood app, which uses a Ticketmaster login. All attendees must check in with D23 on-site at the Pantages before the show to receive a wristband for the talkback. Members must show a valid D23 Membership card, and members and guests over 18 may need a government ID matching the name on the ticket. Children under 5 will not be admitted, and children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
The Hollywood Pantages Theatre is at 6233 Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles. The event follows D23’s recent 9 To 5 screening at the El Capitan Theatre, a little farther down Hollywood Boulevard.
