Disney Store has shared the first look at Walt Disney World 55th anniversary merchandise, and with it the first look at the official 55th anniversary logo and the branding Disney has settled on: “55 Magical Years.” The opening wave is three pieces: a blue pullover hoodie, a teal T-shirt and a coordinating navy ear headband. Disney has not announced U.S. prices or a release date, only that the collection is coming ahead of the October 1 milestone.
The logo is the news. It is a large “55” set above a small globe, with “Magical Years” printed beneath on a banner. The lower halves of the two fives curve outward on either side of the globe to form a Mickey Mouse silhouette.
The Three Pieces
The hoodie is the centerpiece. A “Walt Disney World” script logo runs across the chest in gold embroidery with a small “Florida” pennant stitched above it. Four patches sit below, each styled as a park badge, for Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, with Mickey marching in the middle of them. Beneath the patches is a Walt Disney line: “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”
The T-shirt is a lighter teal and features an illustrated Mickey in a vintage striped outfit, hat in one hand and cane in the other, posed in front of Cinderella Castle next to the 55 logo, with a “Walt Disney World” wordmark and “Florida” text. The ear headband is navy with a sparkling bow, and the ears themselves are covered in small illustrated icons that spread references across the whole resort rather than one park, the same approach as the hoodie patches. Blog Mickey’s post linked below has photos of all three.
The hoodie has also quietly surfaced for sale overseas ahead of any U.S. listing. Disney Store’s Australia and New Zealand site carries it at NZ$114.90, describes it as 100 percent cotton, labels it part of the Walt Disney World 55th Anniversary Collection, and notes matching items are sold separately.
A Quieter Anniversary Than The 50th
The contrast with 2021 is deliberate. The 50th anniversary launched with a 60-piece “EARidescent” collection built on purple, gold and an all-over pattern, plus castle makeovers, golden statues and an 18-month celebration. The 55th palette is blue and cream, the graphics are retro travel-poster style and there are three items.
That is consistent with how the resort has spent 2026. Its energy has gone into the Magic Kingdom expansion, the Villains land and Piston Peak announcements at D23, and the 30th anniversary EPCOT Food and Wine Festival that has already started reshaping World Showcase, rather than a birthday.
D23 Is Marking The Date, Even If The Parks Are Not
Disney still has not announced a dedicated in-park 55th anniversary celebration. What it has announced, days after the merchandise reveal, is a pair of ticketed fan events. D23 Spotlight Series: 55 Magical Years of Storytelling runs the evening of Sunday, October 4 in the Ballroom of the Americas at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, pairing Disney Legend Joe Rohde with a Walt Disney Archives presentation on the Carousel of Progress, including insight from the Imagineers working on the attraction’s upcoming additions. Tickets start at $59 and go on sale Friday, August 28 at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern, for D23 Gold and General members, with a VIP tier adding a dessert reception, character meets and fireworks viewing. D23 has also scheduled a lunch with Rohde on October 2.
Both fall just after the anniversary itself rather than on it, and both are membership events rather than anything happening in the parks. For now, merchandise and a pair of D23 evenings are the whole of the 55th.
What Is Still Unknown
Disney has not said whether these three pieces are the full collection or a first wave, where the items will sell in the United States, or when. Blog Mickey, which had the first look, notes the reveal came from Disney’s own channels and that more items are still to be revealed. Walt Disney World opened October 1, 1971, and turns 55 on October 1, 2026.
Blog Mickey has photos of all three pieces and the logo, and Fantasy Land News has a comparison with the 50th collection.
