Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has a return date. Walt Disney World’s operating schedule now lists the Magic Kingdom flume open again on Friday, December 18, ending a refurbishment that starts November 2. That puts Tiana back on the water one week before Christmas, after about six and a half weeks offline.
The ride’s own page still only says it will close for routine refurbishment on November 2 and is expected to reopen in December 2026. The schedule behind it is more specific. December 17 is still marked as a refurbishment day, and December 18 is the first date with regular operating hours. Refurbishment dates can shift, but this is the first firm day Disney has put on the calendar.
What The Closure Means For Your Trip
If your Magic Kingdom day falls between November 2 and December 17, plan it without the flume. That stretch covers Thanksgiving week and 22 of the 25 nights of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which opens November 8. Families coming for the last week before Christmas, or the busy days between Christmas and New Year’s, should find the ride running again. December 18 is also a Very Merry party night, so the ride’s first evening back lands on a party date.
The ride’s exit shop, Tiana’s Bayou General, follows the same timeline. It is listed as closed for refurbishment in November and back open on December 18. Critter Co-Op, the other shop in the area, still shows regular hours during the closure. Disney has not said what crews will work on beyond calling the refurbishment routine.
The First Long Break Since 2024
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in Frontierland on June 28, 2024, inside the former Splash Mountain building, and it has run for more than two years without an extended closure. When Disney first confirmed the ride would be closing November 2 for its first full refurbishment, there was no reopening date, which left December travelers guessing. The December 18 listing settles that, at least for now.
West Coast fans are not affected. Disneyland’s version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is not part of this refurbishment and is still listed with regular operating hours in November.
Guests who want one more ride before the closure have until Sunday, November 1. After that, the next chance at Magic Kingdom comes on December 18, just in time for the holiday crowds.
