runDisney is already looking ahead to 2027. The themes for the 2027 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend are out, and Abu, Pinocchio, Elsa and Sam Eagle each get a distance, from the 5K up to a 19.3-mile run, in new artwork shared by runDisney.

It is the first look at the 2027 weekend at Walt Disney World. Race dates, prices and registration details have not been announced yet, so for now the characters are all runners have to go on.

The 2027 Wine & Dine Characters

Each character is drawn in front of a World Showcase-style landmark, with a gold badge showing the distance and food floating around them:

  • 5K: Abu from Aladdin
  • 10K: Pinocchio
  • Half marathon (13.1 miles): Elsa from Frozen
  • 19.3 miles: Sam Eagle from The Muppets

Abu flexes with a smug grin, with a kebab skewer and a tomato slice beside him and buildings from the Norway Pavilion behind him. Pinocchio grins in his blue bow tie with tomatoes and what looks like mozzarella around him, in front of a tower from the Morocco Pavilion. Elsa has her braid over one shoulder with a couple of pastries floating at her side and a tower in the style of the Italy Pavilion’s campanile in the background.

Sam Eagle, the famously stern Muppet, is mid-sprint with a scowl, The American Adventure behind him and a cheeseburger and hot dog nearby. It is about as patriotic a plate as you can get.

Sam Eagle’s 19.3 Miles

The 19.3-mile badge lines up with running the 10K and the half marathon back to back, which is how the weekend’s two-race challenge has worked. That puts Sam Eagle on the challenge distance, though runDisney has only shared the artwork so far and has not posted medal designs or full race details.

None of the four were part of this year’s lineup. The 2026 races featured the Aristocats on the 5K, the Three Caballeros on the 10K, Mary Poppins on the half marathon and Grumpy on the Two Course Challenge, so 2027 starts fresh with a new set of characters and a new spread of snacks.

What Runners Should Do Now

If one of these characters has you thinking about signing up, keep an eye out for registration news. Every race on the 2026 weekend sold out well in advance, so it helps to decide on your distance and have your runDisney account ready before sign-ups open.

Before then, Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend arrives in January, and its 2027 medals celebrate Donald Duck and 30 years of the half marathon. We will share the Wine & Dine dates, prices and medals once runDisney announces them.
