Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a new star roaming the savanna. Ivy, a newborn Masai giraffe calf, made her public debut on Kilimanjaro Safaris on June 11, 2026, giving guests a chance to spot her alongside family members who have already become park favorites.
According to Scott Gustin, Ivy can now be seen roaming the savanna with her mother, Willow, and her half-brother Tucker, who was born in 2025. The three-giraffe family group adds a sweet multigenerational element to one of Walt Disney World’s most beloved safari experiences.
A Growing Family on the Savanna
Kilimanjaro Safaris is home to one of the largest managed herds of Masai giraffes in the United States. The addition of Ivy continues Disney’s commitment to animal care and conservation at the park. Disney’s Animal Kingdom participates in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Species Survival Plan, which works to maintain healthy and genetically diverse populations of animals like the Masai giraffe.
The Masai giraffe is classified as endangered, making births like Ivy’s especially meaningful for conservation efforts. Disney has long supported giraffe conservation both at the park and through partnerships with organizations working in Africa.
Tips for Spotting Ivy
If you want to catch a glimpse of Ivy on your next visit, Kilimanjaro Safaris is your best bet early in the morning when animals tend to be most active. The ride runs daily from park open and offers a different experience every time, as animals move freely across the expansive savanna habitat.
Keep an eye out for Willow near the giraffe viewing areas, and Ivy will likely be close by. Cast Members on the safari vehicles often point out young animals, so listen for their narration throughout the ride.
